General Statement of Duties
The State's Attorney has the exclusive and statutory responsibility for prosecuting violations of the criminal laws of the State of South Dakota, as well as many other regulatory laws of the state and county, including ordinances and traffic regulations.
Additionally, the office is responsible for providing legal advice and representation to the Board of County Commissioners and other elected / appointed department heads.
Selection Process

Formal interview and selection process set for October 22, 2019.
Appointment effective from October 22, 2019 to December 31, 2020.
