The Meade County Auditor’s Office reminds everyone that your absentee ballots are due back into the Auditor’s Office by June 2nd, 2020 no later than 7:00 p.m. for them to be counted.
South Dakota Codified Law States “12-19-12. Delivery of absentee ballot to polling place after close of polls. If an absentee ballot is delivered to a polling place after the polls are closed, the absentee ballot may not be counted or opened.”
Meade County does have a drop box located outside of the front doors of the Erskine Administrative Building located at 1300 Sherman Street, Sturgis SD; another drop box is located inside the front entrance of the Erskine Administrative Building or they can also be dropped off at the Meade County Auditor’s Office.
